All about the GT Summer Series

The GT Summer Series is a professionally structured European GT championship designed for competitive drivers across a wide range of GT platforms. The series offers a balanced calendar, high-quality race formats, and a clear operational structure to support both single-driver and shared-driver programmes.

2026 Championship Calendar

The 2026 GT Summer Series will take place across five major European circuits, offering a mix of technical and high-speed challenges:

  • 17–19 April – Hockenheimring

  • 29–31 May – Oschersleben

  • 25–28 June – Nürburgring

  • 27–30 August – Spa-Francorchamps

  • 2–4 October – Hockenheimring

This calendar provides drivers with exposure to some of Europe’s most respected racing venues and a well-rounded competitive season.

Race Weekend Format

Each race weekend is built around a structured programme designed to test consistency, adaptability, and racecraft.

Included Track Sessions

  • Private test sessions prior to the race weekend

  • Free practice session

  • Two qualifying sessions

  • Two sprint races

  • One endurance race with a mandatory pit stop
    (no tyre changes permitted during the endurance race)

This format allows drivers to experience a variety of competitive scenarios across a single event.

Additional Testing Opportunities

Additional testing opportunities are scheduled alongside selected race weekends, allowing drivers and teams to maximise preparation and track time throughout the season.

Eligible Car Categories

  • GT3

  • GT4

  • Ferrari Challenge

  • Porsche Cup

  • Lamborghini Super Trofeo

  • McLaren Trophy

  • GTX / TCX (subject to performance window)

Driver Licensing Requirements

Drivers must hold:

  • A national competition licence with foreign start permission, or

  • An international competition licence

National licence power-to-weight regulations apply where relevant.

Driver Line-Ups & Car Sharing

Cars may be entered with:

  • A single driver, or

  • Two drivers sharing one car

Sprint and endurance race participation can be structured flexibly between drivers, allowing teams to tailor programmes to individual driver goals and experience levels.

Tyres & Fuel

  • Official tyre supplier regulations apply

  • Tyre changes are not permitted during races

  • No restrictions on fuel supplier choice

Final technical bulletins will be issued prior to the season.

Mandatory Equipment (Not Included)

All cars must be equipped with:

  • An approved data logger

  • An incident recording camera

There are no restrictions on the manufacturer of recording equipment, subject to regulatory approval.

Pit Facilities & Team Setup

  • Pit box allocation and availability are managed per event

  • Team tents are mandatory throughout the season

  • Optional hospitality and catering services may be available at selected events
